The metal piece with welds on it is a jig I made to keep the files from slipping while filing. This seems to be working so far as I am trying to keep a clean transition from the ricasso to the knife edge bevel. The opposite side has wing nuts for me to tighten it down. I'm trying to work on at least one improvement on each knife to gradually improve my skills and the knife quality.
