Bowl turning on the wood lathe

This has nothing to do with knives or bears, but I seem to pick up new hobbies from time to time.  I recently purchased a used wood lathe with the desire to turn wood bowls.

Here is some elm from a tree in my back yard. These will have some awesome color to them once done.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here is the lathe. It's not pretty, but it turns wood and that is all that matters. Oh, and the price was right too.

Here is a bowl with a cover I made. The cover cracked as it dried. Apparently I have some more to learn about turning but I am having lots of fun with it.
