Painting tip

When painting or putting a finish on a project I like to have it raised up so that the finish doesn't dry to paper or a paper towel, thus spoiling the finish. My children go through a lot of peanut butter, so I started saving the plastic caps from the jars to help with this. I've found that I can confidently set the finished project on the edges of these caps and it doesn't stick to the finish, allowing the project to dry properly. Many other products have similar caps or lids that will work too. Here I am drying a balsam fir bowl on a cap from a kitty treat container. Give it a try.
