New steel knives
Here are the first three knife blanks I’ve make using the new 1080 high carbon steel I ordered. My impressions so are are that it cuts and grinds easily, so it must already be annealed. New goods!
My 1080 steel arrived today from Admiral Steel and I found some great brass yesterday. I will be using the brass for some bolsters on the knives to come. I should be able to complete about 16 knives out of the new steel and have about enough brass for that too.
